Municipal Climate Resiliency Grants

Municipalities play a critical role in protecting communities from the impacts of climate change. In 2022, Intact Public Entities and the Intact Financial Corporation invested $1 million in 10 communities across Canada to bolster resiliency where climate has the ability to have a negative impact. The selected applicants implemented a variety of projects, including those that create a new wetland by engaging youth, offer FireSmartTM approved enhancements to at-risk homes, build fire breaks around vulnerable communities and provide advance flood prevention information to local residents.

Intact Financial Corporation is doubling down on efforts to build resilient communities by doubling the investment of the enhance 2024 Municipal Climate Resiliency Grants program – $2 million over two years to support practical solutions that will help municipalities address extreme weather events, including floods and wildfires. The application process opens September 9th, 2024. Learn more about the program and how to apply.
